Since 15 years he is covering successfully Hits of the 80ies and 90ies. Lots of Top-10-Hits of that era are still ringing in our ears and they became at least to his songs, because he is presenting them close to the original but still in his very own style, most of the times even accompanied by choreographies.
Now Stephen Folkers  has packed a new Hit-Parcel and is showing this on Friday, 03rd April 2009 at 08:00 pm on PUT EventBühne (Brotfabrik), Bachmannstraße 2-4, 60488 Frankfurt – Hausen. Tickets available for 15,00 €!

Stephen Folkers and his partner Sho’ira will appear with “Bow Down Mister” on this year’s Frankfurter Regenbogensitzung after he was performing there 3 years ago with Edina Pop. Sho’ira and Stephen work together since one year and earn with “Bow Down Mister” big success wherever they perform.
This show will be on  February 18th, 19th and 20th 2009 in Südbahnhof (venue).

 

After the very good success at the „Lucky Star Contest 2008“, lots of people asked if the song „Bow Down Mister” would be available as a CD.
Since Stephen always is very close to his fand and friends, he of course was willing to fulfill these enquiries and is now releasing a Four-Track-Single CD. It contains besides the short version of the song a Maxi version and the instrumental versions as well. See on the right side the artwork of the CS, showing Stephen in the  original outfit.

Stephen will appear on stage with „Bow Down Mister“ together with Sho’ira, who accompanied him on the Lucky Star Contest as well, on August 18th 2008 on the Indian Open Air Summer Festivals at the Konstabler Wache in Frankfurt and probably as well on the well known Museumsuferfest in Frankfurt which will be from August 29th – 31st. This was a VERY amazing and exciting evening yesterday when the ‘Lucky Star Contest’ went into its final.

Stephen performed three songs: ‘Je deveins moi’ by Grégory Lemarchal (French version of a German song by Rosenstolz), ‘Bow Down Mister’ by Boy George’s 1990 project ‘Jesus Loves You’ and a remake of BROS’ 1984 smash hit ‘When Will I Be Famous’ – in a very modern mix – so modern that some people thought it would be a song taken from Madonna’s recent ‘Hard Candy’ album. Stephen had a very special support by the wonderful dance-artist  SHO’IRA  who was doing an Indian Temple Dance! The crowd was very amazed about this performance and honored it with massive applause. Nevertheless – in the end Stephen was ‘just’ entering # 2.

And secondly  we want to thank all of you who are voting for Stephen on French ‘Star Académy’ website for him. With your support and help he gets more and more positive results and bit by bit he’s rising there. Even some mails are coming in from France, mentioning that it is a great thing that a German singer is performing French songs and wishes for good luck. Please continue voting for him HERE. And who knows – maybe Stephen is in the end starting a career as singer in France?!?

It took awhile until Stephen Folkers’ website finally came back online! A little break was needed, because one is developing oneself as a human being as well as an artist. And now – after a couple of fine tunings – www.stephen-folkers.de is back in the web! Besides a complete new layout and design, the website will appear in German AND in English language. We are looking forward for every feedback of your side and wish lots of fun on the new online presence!

Stephen is facing up to the 'Frankfurt sucht den Lucky Star' competition, organized by LM 27. He qualified right in the first preliminary round besides three other applicants, followed by two more preselecting events. Now 12 finalists are selected and they will fight for victory on Saturday 28th June 2008 at 21:00 hrs in the Lucky’s Lounge of LM 27, Schäfergasse 27, 60313 Frankfurt. Last year Stephen was stopped in the Top 3 – but THIS year he WANTS to win! But it won’t be easy: acute ‘P!ink’- imitators, Transvestites that are no Transvestites, gangsta-chicks from the Hanau-Bronx, boy band aspirants and massive Rock-Valkyries are hard rivals! Every act has got 3 songs to persuade the jury that HE or SHE is the right person to rock this year’s CSD on Goetheplatz in July! I want to beg EVERYBOY who is free on this 28th June 2008 to come to LM 27 and support Stephen as surely the audition reactions will be part of jury’s judge! Stephen will be performing something new, but which songs he will be singing, he will keep due to strategically reasons for himself!
 
And in consideration of the fact that all good things are three, here is another interesting news. French TV show ‘Star Académy’, a mixture between ‘Pop Idol’ and ‘Big Brother’ is running into its 8th season. And this time one can apply on the channel’s website with a ‘book’. Stephen has uploaded some files and we would be happy if you visit his profile HERE and vote for him by colouring the stars moving with cursor over them!
